Good shit.

I can't wait to start posting my stuff, when I find time to record.
The band's OK, but the name kicks ass.

I can't list all of the bands I have listened to though.
Really? The internet isn't big enough.

But, if you don't mind half of it being in a language you don't understand, here's one humble suggestion:

A lovely singer, with a very robust voice. Her name is Jackie Evancho.
She's 11.

Yes. Though I do indeed admire her voice especially considering her age, as she sounds a least 5 years older than she looks, I really hope she won't ruin it by overstretching her voice.

I don't think she needs to worry about that, if she intends to be an opera singer as she once did. Her voice has a beautiful timbre, but I don't think she'll ever have the power to sing opera.

Music I like... that's a tough one considering music is such a big part of my life. There are too many bands that I like to mention them all, but all round I'd say rock music as a whole takes up most of my interest, ranging from britpop to black metal and pretty much anything in between. I also like a few 'electronic' artists, particularly new age, trance and techno. I also like a couple of local hip-hop groups that you couldn't have heard of. Jazz is palatable at certain moments. All in all I try to keep an open mind about things, although there are certain things that I wouldn't willingly listen to.

However if I were to mention the artist that I listen to the most, they would have to be Metallica, Queen, Pink Floyd and Disturbed. Not terribly original, huh? :)

Totally aside (or maybe not), how's about setting up a subsection, each person is allowed to state a song and the rest vote? and then the discussion why they do or do not like it? Just an idea to get some extra movement on the forum?

Interesting idea.

Found an old CD today... The New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble, featuring their versions of Dave Brubeck's Take Five and Billie's Comes Love.

I miss Moon Ska NYC.

Hey, nothing wrong with the classics, and I love Disturbed. BTW, if I haven't said it yet, welcome to the forum! Check your sanity at the door and pull up a chair.
And to contribute: I really like Nightwish. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whbzKU2Eyvc There probably are better clips out there, but The Poet and the Pendulum is my favorite song from their DarkPassionPlay album.

An old favorite from one of my favorite bands:

It's odd, but... I actually like Lady Gaga's Edge of Glory.

Although for me it almost sounds like an 80's song. Must be the sax.

A lot of what she sings sounds like rehashed 80's tunes. Edge of Glory could very easily be a Madonna tune, in my book.
