Re: Starship Pics
Well, we can see without question that the pylons come from the seondary hull at an angle of about 50 degrees from horizontal.

The second picture isn't the Excelsior in the first, it's the new Enterprise.

Re: Starship Pics
This is true, but I fail to see the relevance...
Oh, I get you. Maybe 50 degrees was overstating it. 40 -45 degrees, perhaps.

Re: Starship Pics
Take a look at the connection point to the nacelle, it curves it doesn't go straight in. I think the angle is a lot lower than you're thinking it is.

Re: Starship Pics
Hmmm, perhaps. I'll grant that. The fact remains, though, that salient to my point, it is patently clear that the nacelle does not come out horizontally and then turn perpendicularly 90 degrees to vertical.

Re: Starship Pics
True, but it may not be that drastic, only 15 or 20 degrees from horizontal. It's not a perfect copy of the Excelsior but it'd be in the same vein.

Re: Starship Pics
From this angle they look like they do extend horizontally - they simply have a very slight upward curve instead of the 70 - 80 bend of the original. The result is that the nacelles are probably below the the primary hull instead of level with it.Mikey wrote:Hmmm, perhaps. I'll grant that. Ok, to help the discussion here is a top-shoot. Didn't like it as much, though.

Re: Starship Pics
Yuck. Are you sure that's the same ship? That one looks like it's got an E-B-esque flange around the engineering hull, and the nacelle pylons look a lot different.

Re: Starship Pics
I dunno. I do like the upward seep of the pylons but on an Excelsior? Ehhh... Still like the ship but the pylons are not lighting my world on fire in this application.

Re: Starship Pics
The nacelle pylons themselves are well styled. They just really don't represent an Excelsior class.

Re: Starship Pics
That was my point. And the paint scheme looks like something off of some 17-year-old wannabe's 1997 Honda Prelude.Reliant121 wrote:The nacelle pylons themselves are well styled. They just really don't represent an Excelsior class.

Re: Starship Pics
Maybe its just the angle, but I loved the below/side view, while I'm not fond of the top... and the glare doesn't help.
