I remember the debut of the White Ranger, when I was in kindergarten. I was... so excited.

Looking back though, what was up with the black guy being the Black Ranger and the Asian girl being the Yellow Ranger? I mean, come on.

Just a thought that's occurred to me, you can take it or leave it... but do you think there's a stereotype in scifi of a sort of imposing but sympathetic warrior alien played by a black guy? Between Worf, Teal'c and Tyr Anasazi, it seems kind of clichéd.
