Oh, so you weren't bashing it, then. It just read like you were. My bad, there.

No, not at all. I was just mentioning it as an example of a facility intended for people who were going to be on the ship for quite a while.

Did Voyager have their garden when the set out or did they plant it latter?

I am fairly certain Voyager's plant bay was a converted cargo bay. It's been quite awhile since I saw the first season so I could be mistaken, I just seem to recall it being an idea that Kes and/or Neelix suggested and Janeway approved. It makes sense on a long-term mission. As far as fauna just for the sake of fauna, Tuvok seemed to do that on his own in his quarters, implying there wasn't a "dedicated spot" for it on the ship.

Correct. In
Paralax Kes asked permission to set up a hydroponics bay in one of the cargo bays.
She then promptly went to
sickbay to get
soil for the
hydroponics bay.

But hydroponics mean that you don't use...
Oh, never mind.

They've had ample time to work in little snippets about the Tholians or their background, and certainly they don't seem reclusive ENOUGH for everyone to be totally in the dark about them. It's too bad they decided just to throw their name in once in awhile just as a tribute almost, rather than to advance their development.

That has been touched on in various threads, and unanimously agreed with.

........ I responded in the wrong thread. Can I blame it on the forum acting up?

Sure! We all still agree, though.

Don't they call it airponics bay? Whatever that means.

Still means that they don't use friggin' soil.

Yup, it's actualy an airponics bay.
Aeroponics (screw VOY, I'm using the correct spelling) is growing plants with gases, IIRC.

That certainly should be what it means. Still doesn't explain the soil.

Or what sickbay was doing with a cupbord full of soil.
