I have been seeing that more often lately. Not the picture itself but a picture of a homeless dude holding up a sign saying that.

It occurs to me for some strange, demented reason that there's a risk in a hobo making such a specific plea: this guy for example might get a coupon for karate lessons in lieu of cash!

Well $4 is pretty cheap.

Well what's wrong with that? He'd be one lesson closer to getting his family back!

He'd get a buck from me just for creativity. A friend of mine was once asked for money by a homeless man; my friend, with only enough in his pocket for train fare home, offered him a cigarette instead. The homeless man said, "Beggars can't be choosers!"

Maybe he had a celly, but lost it with his home...

Why give money to someone that careless. A home is a very large thing to loose. It's not like it's going to be down the back of the sofa. These people really should be more careful.

IDK, after one or two particularly epic (or so I'm told after-the-fact) benders, I've lost a house. Or, more properly, the house (or city, or state) lost me. Let me tell you, it's quite a jolt to get on a train bound from Nassau, Long Island to Hoboken, NJ and regain consciousness to find yourself in Jamaica.
