Quite right. I feel old, now.....I've "Debated" with you several times and even killed you on a number of occasions. Besides, when was the last time you ragged on any of the newbs?

I'm thinking more in the way of 5 to 1.Deepcrush wrote:Ah, my bad. It would mostly depend on if the defiants could stay out of the way of the sov's RFQTL. One volley from that thing could finish most any ship off. Head on I'd say they'd need 3 to 1 for a win.
Didn't you get that I think that building a carrier is a stupid idea.

Good point. A smart captain could cause a lot of damage with just s single Defiant, if he was smart.

The Sovereign has 6 rear facing photon (presumably more advanced than normal) tubes, and has immense rear phaser coverage, as shown just after the E-E hit the Scimitar after doing the 'zero elevation' thing. Considering it's without doubt faster, too, it could if required, just zoom out if things got bad, turn round, then hit it with quantums too.Jordanis wrote:I'm going to go with three for a pretty comfortable win. The thing is, the Defiants are maneuverable enough to just hang out on the back quarter of the Sov and stay out of the way of the big phaser arrays AND the good QT launcher. That takes a lot of the firepower of the Sov out of the equation.
However, the best way would of course be to just ram it at warp. But in a 'proper' fight, I'd say about 4-1; the Sovereign's huge shield grid, massive phaser coverage, 9 [advanced?] photon torpedo tubes and 1 [advanced] quantum torpedo tube... GG defiants
