You know, it might be interesting to be in command of a border-cutter like the Soyuz, or possibly an old Hermes or Paladin. TOS/Movie Era small ship, with limited range. Probably has more of a military feel to it, and you'd be exceptionally tight-knit with your crew if you were captain.
