THat was actually me. The original series is way to campy to get the vote... the new series never delivered for me... I have never seen the 1980 thing... so I went with the process of elimination

I like that in the new BSG the tech hasn't stayed the same for a thousand years! That part always bothered me!

Trust me on this, I have had the misfortune to see some of 1980, and it makes Voyager look like well written and consistent TV - Threshold included.

I voted original, I grew up watching it on re-runs and the only other sci fi available on terrestrial tv was Buck Rogers, I know BSG was camp compared to todays one but at least it didn't have rollerskating dancers with light rope things in it (I may be dreaming but I think I remember a scene like this in Buck Rogers). New show is too bloody depressing to be honest, looks good but doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.

Reruns? I gre up watching it as it aired! As I mentioned in the other thread, you have to take the original BSG in the context of the times. Camp and flash, and yes, even capes, were expected from TV as much as Dirk Benedict's feathered hair or Lynda Carter's boobs. You couldn't field a sci-fi show WITHOUT gold and chrome robots.
.....
Sorry, just having a Lynda Carter moment.
Yes, there was a Buck Rogers with roller skates and light ropes. And Erin Gray in a catsuit. Wait, that was all of them.

And stylish hair. I have yet to see a single scene in that series where a character has messed up hair. No matter what situations they get into, Apollo and Starbuck always have perfectly styled hair.
Hmm....perhaps the colonials have invented the ultimate hair gel?
