Conclusion, if it has enough force to stop the fall from killing you its only because the bomb killed you first.

well, I'm not sure if it's the same one, but they did one about a gunman falling out of a WWII bomber, and one of the bombs exploded in a train station cushioning the fall, allowing him to survive....they said plausible, because the blast was enough to cushion, but not kill, however the shrapnel from the train station did kill him.

No, I think that one was thoroughly busted.
