Okay, here it is. They have an Army liaison (not sure if that would be the same as a consultant):
Lt. Col. Gregory Bishop (see caption).

Most of the liaisons I've met normally just bring in casualty lists and budget reports.

In the context of the article you linked, he sounds like a Public Affairs Officer (or the US equivalent at least).

You guys misunderstand me. I don't mean that he is the one advising them on the movie, I mean he is the guy the Army uses to talk about the movie to the public.

Aye, you're mixing up liaison with advisor. The liaison goes to the army and says "the director wants to know if he can get a shot of a bunch of F-22s taking off at sunset". The advisor goes to the writers and says "this scene is bullshit".

The Lt. Col is a liaison, they likely have an adviser or rather a set of them, given that his involves most of the branches of the US Military.
