Really? Some were overly arty, for sure, but
Sleeper, Bananas, Everything You Wanted to Know... were great films.
Not forgetting
Love and Death (1975)

The Departed.
I saw "Infernal Affairs" and found it to be superior to this movie. Better ending, better music, and I got more entertainment out of "Infernal Affairs" than "The Departed."

I haven't seen Infernal Affairs, but I did think "The Departed" was pretty good.

Titanic to me was Kate Winslet in her birthday suit and Leonardo DiCaprio getting punched in the gut and later dying of hypothermia. Those were the only entertaining parts of the movie.

That wasn't entirely it - there was some cool CGI as well.

I was obsessed with the Titanic as a kid; I read every book about it I could get my hands on. Then the movie comes out, and it's three hours of people talking, with ten minutes of the actual incident. I was rather disappointed.

Ditto. A Night to Remember, despite it's age and factual inaccuracies, remains by far the best film based on the sinking.

I'll have to keep an eye out for that one.

Planet of the Apes, I found it extremely boring and tedious, and without point, and the last scene was so predictable it wasn't even funny, but I guess for the time period it wasn't bad CGI wise.

Yeah, I was never too thrilled by PotA, either.

Are you talking the Heston one, or the Marky Mark one?
'Cause I liked the original, but I had a real problem with the Roddy McDowell sequels.

The Heston one does have a somewhat predictable ending - aside from all the parodies over the years it's on the cover of the DVD. I loved it myself.
Never liked Top Gun - not exactly "great", but everyone else I know loves it.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one.
