What ships in Starfleet are considered Battleships?

Actually, most sci-fi would probably have fighters to counter enemy bombers.

I think fighters are mainly to draw enemy fire and annoy the enemy while Capital ships do the damage. They would also be good for taking down damaged ships. There only us is fleet actions as supporting roles.

Don't forget the Maquis vessels which looked pretty much the same as the Federation fighters that they destroyed a Cardassian Galor.

I'm pretty sure Marquis ships are bigger and stronger than a fighter.
