The jury is still out for me as to how the movie is going to be. To be honest I'm just wanting a good entertaining film. But after seeing the second trailer I was wanting to see more.

Oh yeah and Ben Cross as Sarek, good call. I rank that choice at the same level when they announced Patrick Stewart was gonna be on STNG. IMHO

I'm sure most of us will be chomping at the bit until 05May09, but until then I'd like to see more pics of the Enterprise.

After seeing the second trailer, I have to say that the comparisons I made in my op are way off base. These two movies couldn't be more different from each other. Although, they are both updates, I can already tell just how "hip" XI is going to try to be.

While watching the second preview with Kirk riding his bike to the ship yards I had a "Top Gun" flashback. I just wonder if Kelly McGillis auditioned for the part of Yeoman Rand. :mrgreen:

Personally, Kirk always struck me as a motorcycle (or hoverbike) sort of guy. :)

Worf seems like a battle tank kind of guy (he cut me off.. I'll drive over him :happydevil: )
Picard like a ... horse drawn-carriage kind of guy

There's an interesting possibility for a thread: "What cars would Trek characters drive?" :lol:

Judging by his reaction in Star Trek IV, Sulu's never seen windscreen wipers before - I'd reckon on motorbike.

Wesley Crusher = 10-speed bicycle.

Beverly Crusher = Mini-Van

Bashir = Porsche 911 turbo

Harry Kim = Honda

Yeah, for some reason, I can picture him driving a neon green Prelude with matching ground effects. :D
