Kirk did pretty well - the E-nil's destruction wiped out half of Kruge's crew, while still leaving her own crew a ship to get home on. Using the ship to ram the BoP would have left them stranded on Genesis when the planet blew up. Even if the planet hadn't exploded, they'd have been left stranded, with no way of getting Spock back to Vulcan.

What use would ramming the Bird of Prey do? I suppose if they managed to hit the thing they might have crushed it and survived, but the Bird of Prey could easily have dodged it then blown them away.

Kirk had no way to win in a firefight, so once again he tricks his way out of it, and takes out most of the Klingons in the process.

Yeah, that. As to:
Captain Picard's Hair wrote:What of HMS Bounty
HMS Bounty was in Tahiti when a young mate named Fletcher Christian led a mutiny to remove one Captain Bligh.

With regards to the E in TSFS, trying to ram the Klingon ship would have just resulted in the Klingons blowing the ship up. Leaving it as a trap was the best option.

I always assumed Starfleet would have found someway to recover the Klingon BoP from the harbor. Why let a valuble piece of intelligence just waste away down there??? I'm sure there are ways they could have raised it up again.

Yeah, but then they'd have to pull all of the carpets, and spray for mold, and...

Seriously, we went over this before; most of us figure they did raise it, and probably learned quite a bit from it.

They got their power back yesterday, but I'm unsure what's going on with the rent situation.

Well, I suppose no news is good news in this case.
