The conspiracy-theorist-nutter idea behind Jade Helm is that the U.S. military is somehow using its exercises to soften up population centers and using Wal-Mart stores (!) as supply bases for Chinese infiltration. I'd go into more detail on the rationale behind that idea, but since I have working neurons I can't follow it.
