Well, I now have what Bob had a week ago (sure took its time). Which means I may not be on tomorrow. Or the next day. Maybe even longer.
Which also means it wasn't food poisoning.

Worst part is, I had a big lunch...Image

Good thing you can't transmit a bug over the internet. :|

Feel better. I've just recently gotten past the allergy season, which while not severe, was a fairly lengthy annoyance.

Yikes, Stitch. Sleep as much as possible, and drink plenty of clear liquids. Sounds like the sort where crackers and chicken soup would be the easiest food to get down. I wish you well! :(

I just dropped a buttload of money on a black suit, so I can look sharp when I start interviewing for jobs. Yep, I get to go job hunting during the biggest economic downturn since the 1930s! Go me! I almost want to go get a doctorate, just so I can come out from my hidey-hole in 3 years when (hopefully) this has all blown over. But as it is right now, I just can't see 3 more years of little or no income. I wish my fiancee and I had the capital to buy a house! That would be perfect in this market. Oh well.

Anybody got a career for me? Hmm, didn't think so.

I'll be entering the job market in a year and change once I graduate - though, the prospects for people holding engineering degrees are usually good in any climate :)

On a darker note, my mother's in something of a pickle. She works as an RN (registered nurse), currently at the office of a nearby pediatrician (who was our family pediatrician when my sisters and I were growing up). However, this doctor himself is currently very ill, with lung cancer. She is still getting paid, and her paycheck is a much smaller contributor to our home income than my father's; however, her career life has been thrown for a loop. It is the fact that she can leave all of us home alone safely and legally which enables her to work now, and also the fact that all three of us (myself and my younger sisters) have either graduated or are in college makes it that much more important to earn the bit of extra money for our family.

Right now the doctor's office is using the network of other doctors, sending patients to other docs and having other doctors come in for mom's ill boss. She does also work part-time (one or two shifts a week) at the hospital, for much higher hourly pay than she gets from the doctor. However (like Quark :P ) she doesn't like the more stressful environment of the hospital and likes the closer interaction at a doc's office with a smaller group of patients, so chose not to work full-time there.

Its funny just how many people are getting hit by the downturn. The Jewellery market has unsuprisingly gone to shit recently.

Hm, isn't it more attractive to put your money into jewelry because that keeps its value due to silver and gold and such integrated in it? or are people suddenly shoopig for raw gold or gold bars?
