I get that it's slowing things up; I'm trying to think of a way to streamline it without losing direct tactical control. Combat rating is a factor, but a superior enemy can still be defeated with the right tactics.

The thing that would make it go most quickly would be for me to only let you give manuver orders then just spread the firing across the whole of both fleets, giving bonuses to those units in flanking and rear positions.
One turn right now can break down into like 32 different firing orders from different ranges and everything. If I can get that down it would help enough we could do this fast.

Actually Tsuki, thanks for resisting me on this. Made me think up the best hyrbid solution.
From this point on (ie after this battle) you may give ONE set of firing orders that will apply to all of your ships.
It can be fire on the whole fleet, fire on this group, fire on this set of groups.
This should let me get things turned around much more quickly and really does not hurt your flexibility too bad as a CO.

How about two groups of orders, if you want one type of ship to fire at a set of groups (or single group), and the rest of your ships to fire at the whole fleet, or vice versa?
Otherwise, at least one of my ship classes was a waste of development and production.

That is probably doable really.

You could make that an optional "extra". Like the default setting is to use firing from the entire fleet, but a specified option is to fire with specific groups.

I think the two limit works unless there is a good reason.
One set of orders can be fire these groups at this one group. The rest can be ordered to fire at everyone else. Just so I don't have a bunch of distinct actions to resolve each turn it will move quicker.

I find it funny that no one is doing anything in the IC thread till the battle is over.

Not really much point, how the battle goes decides a LOT of the quadrant's fate.

Nah. This is just two minor fleets smashing into each other and dropping tribbles on the populace below.
Besides, its not like I have any hope of winning this war. I'm just buying time for the Hur'q to get here.

You should believe in yourself more. You've done pretty well this time around.

How about you drop out of the ISA and ally to the RSE and join in the fight?

Hey hey hey... You've been aided by everyone short of the BC and UFP in this war. Ships, fuel, repairs, money and weapons... all from other powers. I think they've helped you as much as they can without being DIRECTLY involved in aiding a nation guilty of mass murder (or appears to be guilty at the least).

I'm not talking about them, I'm talking about my own species!
If my citizens had been Klingons, this would have been over by now.
But oh well, deal with what I get.
