Great,

I'll use that when I post about meeting the QM.

Even so, it's still a good quality mono sword. I have nowhere to sell my old one yet, anyway... and soon, I'll be able to take ambidextrous and dual-weapon wielder. Although, I can't say I'm sure what the benefit is... A melee attack is a half-action, so you can make two in a round - a dual-weapon attack is a full action, so you still only get two attacks in a round.
If you feel like looking it up, maybe you can let me know what the best armor I can get at "Average" or easier is? I'd love a set of stormtrooper carapace or enforcer light carapace plus a helmet, but I don't recall the availabilities. Ditto with a Vanaheim shotgun or Armageddon autogun.

That would be Flak Jacket (AP 3 Arms, Body, Legs) and Flak Helmet (AP 2).
Armageddon autogun is Average and a Vanaheim is also Average. You'll get two full reloads with whatever you choose.

Really? Guard flak is harder than average?

Mmm... decisions, decisions...

Scarce in fact, probably because it is AP 4 all over. It's weird, you'd think the universe would be flooded with that stuff.

Guess so. *shrugs* Well, I'm torn. I prefer the range of the autogun, but scatter rules + autofire on the Vanaheim make it very tempting... and may help make up for the fact that SP weapons have no Penetration...

Well that depends if your willing to get in close with the Slaught to get that scatter effect, against an Overseer it's dead zone is 7m all around and you need to be within 3m to get the scatter bonus. Within the Slaught's dead zone all your tests are basically up'd by 20.

Only tests related to psychic powers. It wouldn't affect my BS, unless I'm reading that bit on blanks wrong. I'd have a +10 to the threshold to manifest any powers, and a +20 to the difficulty to any tests involved in using the power.

I admit I find lots of there entries confusing. If that's the case (and we'll go with that) then grab the shotgun.

You get a bonus to CC anyways IIRC.

I was thinking shotty anyway just from an RP perspective - Close-quarter-fighter doesn't lend itself to long-ranged combat; a shotgun fits better with my naval upbringing; and I'm not the type of char who's supposed to be doing the big dakka-dakka anyway.
Any non-standard shells available?

Actually your in luck, I looked up blazer rounds and they happen to be common. They change the damage to Flame, Primitive, essentially turning the weapon into a flamer.

OK, I just re-read that bit. It does say any tests "associated" with psychic powers. In addition, while the blank is invulnerable to direct powers, you can still affect it with a secondary effect. If I tried to use Inflict Pain on the blank, it wouldn't work at all. If I used Precognition, for example, to increase my chance to parry an attack, I'd have to increase the Threshold to sustain it by 10, but I'd still be able to use the +10 to WS to parry because it isn't used directly against the blank. If I had to make any sort of WP test to use the power, THAT test would have a +20 difficulty.

Are those the same as the "inferno" shells listed in the DH rulebook?

No, those fire a phosphorous gel (with no range reduction), these literally fire a cone of flame but only work out to 15m.

Do they still get the semi-auto or auto fire bonuses?
Jeebus, I've got some reading to do tonight!

No, single shot only. But seeing as a creature on fire has to make a test and if it fails make another one next round to put itself out or do anything, there worth it even if all you do is immobilize the target.
