He was a bit overly dramatic on Futureweapons. The way he spoke was a bit over the top but his opinions were pretty valid given his credentials.
And the man did hit a target at 2,700 yards+ with a .416 Barret. So ya know, he can shoot.

I'll start watching again if he addresses the biggest issues with the show. Regularly testing weapons against armor, restraining weapon choices to those actually practical to a one on one (or squad on squad) fight, and realizing that just because something does more damage does not automatically make it the superior weapon.

I'd MUCH rather see Gunny R. Lee Remey join the cast.

If Mach was a bit overdramatic, then R. Lee Ermey is the textbook definition of hyperbole. Gunny amuses me, no doubt; but the types of "tests" to which he puts weapons on "Lock and Load" are about as inconclusive as those on "Deadliest Warrior." I mean, blowing up watermelons and lamps? You can do that with a .22LR varmint gun as well as with a .50AE, and wouldn't learn anything about either one.

Yeah, but he's FUN to watch

Plus, he can enforece the testing rules, colorfully.
"Maybe if we were in mamby pamby land, that blunderbuss may take down a Knight, if he was dumb enough to leave his shield under your woman's bed. But now, let's try it the right way, just to try something new."
