Not just TOS - the Romulans in STV and STVI were ridgeless as well. Again, the Romulans are a group of Vulcans that have only lived off-world for a couple thousand years, and I've always thought that the TNG-era ridges were a silly and unnecessary addition.Reliant121 wrote:Ridges have always been there, apart from TOS.
I'm in that camp as well. If nothing else I can call them a racial feature, some Romulans have them other's don't.Lazar wrote:and I've always thought that the TNG-era ridges were a silly and unnecessary addition.
One interesting thing was that in "Unification", Spock was able to pass as a Romulan without having ridges.Tyyr wrote:I'm in that camp as well. If nothing else I can call them a racial feature, some Romulans have them other's don't.
Aye, I'm with you there. The ridges are pointless, and just there to make them look slightly more alien.Lazar wrote:and I've always thought that the TNG-era ridges were a silly and unnecessary addition.
