Re: Rogue Trader General Disscussion
Good point. What's with the need for pants all of a sudden?

Trying to take it marginally seriously. That and pants can conceal the carapace armor underneath.
Yeah, working out the character details now. I just wanted to get up the roll-playing portion up ASAP. What do I need to roll for the PF?

Re: Rogue Trader General Disscussion
Um, I don't think you can wear carapace armor under clothes, unless those clothes are so ridiculously outsized that you'd lose any effect of concealment anyway.
P.S. backstory and personality up.
Roll a d10; that'll give us Profit Factor and Ship Points. Since Kendall has something up his sleeve and we won't be building/having our own ship, I'm not sure what to do with the Ship Points. Unused ones can be added to the Profit Factor; but I don't know if he's going to require us to spend them on a ship later on.Tyyr wrote:What do I need to roll for the PF?

1) She's a pirate, of course they're baggy.
2) It's best quality which if I recall is expressly stated as not only weighing half as much but being well made enough to be form fitting. She's a rogue trader, she can get her hands on some very high class stuff.
I didn't know if Kendall was going to run things off that chart or not given that he was handing us a ship.

Well I was going to use the chart, your still going to need a Profit Factor for certain things. You can either fold the ship points into it or hang onto them for later on. Either way is good.

Yeah, I know - I have best-qual carapace too. But it's still carapace armor.Tyyr wrote:well made enough to be form fitting.

Yeah, he said to roll for Profit Factor. The only unknown is if we're tracking Ship Points to use later, to add to Profit Factor, or if we can use them to pimp out whatever scow he sticks us with. If you wann a roll a d10, I have the PDF open.Tyyr wrote:I didn't know if Kendall was going to run things off that chart or not given that he was handing us a ship.

Yeah, thy would have worn typical 18th-c. sailing garb, including form-fitting breeches.Tyyr wrote:Actual pirate, not slutty halloween costume pirate.
Not bad. Profit Factor 40, Ship Points 50. Now, the question will be if we will need those ship points; will we need to build one from scratch if so, 50 points should make a decent one. Or, if we don't need to, can we take a few of our ship points, pimp our ride, and add the rest to our Profit Factor?Tyyr wrote:7

7 gets you a PF of 40 and a ship factor of 50. So middle of the road, not bad.

Re: Rogue Trader General Disscussion
I guess the thing would be to see what we get, and then confab and see what we want to (and can, based on space) do to it. I'd advise everyone (and I'll try to, also) to take a look at the ships section.

Well I think you'll be pleased with what you end up with, may need a bit off a fix up though.

I've seen quite a few wood cuttings of some of the real life female pirates and the were almost always in baggy pants or a flat out dress.Mikey wrote:Yeah, thy would have worn typical 18th-c. sailing garb, including form-fitting breeches.
If I remember the PF scale one end had high PF and minimal ship points but the other would let you build battle cruisers but you were poor. Which end did we trend towards?

The low profit one. What you have now would let you buy a frigate, 8 or above and ovur into cruiser territory.

My vote would be on a Sword frigate if we can get hold of one. Powerful but sleek and fast.

Actually, it seems just about in the middle - 44% of the total "points" went to PF, 56% to Ship Points.Cpl Kendall wrote:The low profit one. What you have now would let you buy a frigate, 8 or above and ovur into cruiser territory.
Hrmm. Everyhting I'd seen showed them in either dresses or men's clothes. Don't really matter much, thoguh.Tyyr wrote:I've seen quite a few wood cuttings of some of the real life female pirates and the were almost always in baggy pants or a flat out dress.

I think our best bet would be to take a few ship points to update/refit/pimp out what Kendall grants us, and add the rest of our ship points to our PF. Remember, every ship point unused adds to PF on a 1:1 basis.Cpl Kendall wrote:Well I think you'll be pleased with what you end up with, may need a bit off a fix up though.
Besides, there's something to be said for an up-armed ship that doesn't look like an uparmed ship.
