Why would the Illuminati sacrifice the Sensei? They are the Emperors seed for Throne Sake! What they need to do is let the Emperor die so that he can be reborn! Like always before, with his death shall his rebirth follow.

As to him being a God. He doesn't like it but it seems to work out more like he is. People who are strong enough in faith can summon powers to themselves (Something he tried to stop), those who pray in his name are known to heal faster and live longer. Let us not forget the Living Saint Euphrati Keeler of the Lectitio Divinititatus.

And St. Celestine...

However, the idea of the Illuminati is that the Emperor will be reborn through the ritual deaths of his children, the Sensei.

For lack of a better word thats just F****** stupid! He's only been reborn how many times now!? So why would this time be any different. The only way to get him back is to unplug that damned Golden Throne, and pray that no warp beast come through the webway portal and that the eldar don't use it to destroy holy terra.

I've never read that the Illuminati were ever going to kill off the sensei in any novel so where is this coming from?

I thought the Illuminati were trying to protect the Sensei? :?
Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I always thought it went.

I've never heard of them interacting at all but it would make more sense for them to be working together.

As I understand it, the Illuminati are trying to prptect the Sensei in order to preserve them for the right time - according to their belief, the Sensei must be sacrificed at the moment that the Emperor truly dies.

This info (apparently) comes from the Realm of Chaos books and Inquisition War.

If the Emperor dies then he'll just be reborn. Thats how it works. But it would take a long time for the Rebirth to relearn everything about himself. Killing the Sensei just wont' do anything.

What if they're right? What if sacrificing the Sensei at the moment of the Emperor's true death causes him to be reborn at the height of his power?

Who knows what the Illuminati might have learned while possessed by daemons?
