Immunity to Covid-19 could be lost in months, UK study suggests
People who have recovered from Covid-19 may lose their immunity to the disease within months, according to research suggesting the virus could reinfect people year after year, like common colds.

In the first longitudinal study of its kind, scientists analysed the immune response of more than 90 patients and healthcare workers at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS foundation trust and found levels of antibodies that can destroy the virus peaked about three weeks after the onset of symptoms then swiftly declined.

Blood tests revealed that while 60% of people marshalled a “potent” antibody response at the height of their battle with the virus, only 17% retained the same potency three months later. Antibody levels fell as much as 23-fold over the period. In some cases, they became undetectable.

“People are producing a reasonable antibody response to the virus, but it’s waning over a short period of time and depending on how high your peak is, that determines how long the antibodies are staying around,” said Dr Katie Doores, lead author on the study at King’s College London.

Had an argument on a US Veteran Facebook page. Used to be funny. It's lately have become anti-liberal. Worse part about that, it's not logical either.

Anyway thd argument basically started with the guy posting a pic about how a mask doesn't prevent Covid to the person. Well I mention of course it doesn't. Ended up with the guy saying he won't wear a mask because it's not 100% effective.

Ladies and gentleman, this is America.

An Ohio man who died due to complications from COVID-19 has drawn criticism for his staunch refusal to wear a mask earlier in the pandemic.

Richard Rose III, an Army veteran who spent nine years in the United States Army according to his obituary, died on July 4. He was 37.

Rose’s death gained notoriety on social media after expressing that he was “not buying a (expletive) mask” less than three months before his death.

“I’ve made it this far by not buying into that damn hype,” he said in a post published April 28.

OK it's funny they are talking about it right now. If anyone is interested the Facebook site is Veteran Humor. Lately it's been nothing humorous at all.

Yeah alot of the people on there are trying to do some mental gymnastics to find other reasons or just in denial.

The sad part is, there's people out there who will just not get it, intentionally or not.
