1102 Day 2

Marco nodded slowly at Haxta's words. "Not a bad idea." He said quietly. "I think it'd be good if we could also get talking to those cultists. Or whatever they are. Though that may be a bit dangerous, particularly if they know that some of their bretherin were killed by a group of off-worlders not long ago. Hmm....maybe we could follow them when they leave? They might just lead us to a local hideout, or something."

" I think trying to talk to them would be troublesome at best. Following them however..." she cast a glance over at the cultists. " I think Pahr might be able to tail them unnoticed."

1102 Day 2

"I'll slip out and let him know." Marco replied, grabbing his still untouched drink and getting up. "I need some air anyway. Too much damn smoke in here."

Karibi walked briskly through the pub and back outside, where he could finally breathe properly again. He stared up at the rooftops to try and spot Pahr, but the assassin was evading his attempts to spot him. Giving up on his search, the Adept instead strolled over to where Phebia had been hanging around, hoping she'd be able to find Pahr. Thankfuly, the Sororitas hadn't moved far.

"Drink?" He called out to her, offering her the glass as he walked up.

Phebia's lip curled up at the sight of the local brew. She raised her canteen. "Water will suffice. I would prefer not to sully my body with what passes for a drink on this planet." She took a swig for emphasis. "Have you learned anything?"

"Don't really blame you." Commented Karibi, tossing the contents of the glass into a nearby gutter. "There's a group of those cultists in there. Seem pretty passive so far, so I don't think they realise who we are. The barkeep says they're fairly common around here. I think Haxta and Trask are asking around a bit more. Do you know where Pahr is?"

Phebia nodded but didn't point. "I saw him head down an alley three or four blocks west. I would suppose he'd be close to there."

" Shall we?" Haxta asked Trask as Macro slipped out. Without really waiting for an answer, she made her way over to the other ship's crew, stopping a few feet from them. " Excuse me friends, might we have a word?"

11:02 - day two

Through the scope, Karibi's eyes were the color of the tall pine trees of Holy Terra that Pahr had seen in a picture once. A bead of sweat ran down his ruddy cheek as he shaded his eyes with his hand, scanning the rooftops. He was clearly looking for something.

Pahr sighed. We'll need a signal, he thought, as he scrambled to his feet, mindful of Trask's staff as he sprinted to the access hatch on the far end of the roof, and pulled it open.

He slid silently through the building, passing open doors filled with the smells of meals being prepared, and the sounds of crying children; the signs of squalor were evident everywhere he looked. On the ground floor, a small child of about five stared at him as he passed; the boy was half-naked, and reeked of feces. Pahr put a finger to his lips, and made a shushing sound at the boy as he exited to the alley behind the building.

11:04 - day two

Pahr emerged from the crowd behind the Adept and the Sororitas, closer to her. He tapped her lightly on the shoulder.

The next thing Pahr felt was the barrel of Phebia's revolver in his gut. "Don't do that," she said after turning her head to look at him.

Phebia's revolver met open air as Pahr sidestepped deftly, "Apologies," he whispered.

"Looking for me?" he directed at Karibi.

1105 Day 2

"Er, yes." Marco replied, surprised at the minor exchange between the other two. "There's a group of those face-painted cultists in the bar. So far they're not causing any trouble, but we figured it'd be a good idea to follow them when they leave. They may lead us back to a local cell headquarters or something else of importance if we're lucky. Obviously, this sort of stealth is more suited to your talents."

Phebia sighed. "Then I will continue to sit out here and try very hard to look as bored as I am."

Trask sighed and followed Haxta over to the offworld crew, carefully standing one step behind the cog-girl and one step to the left. He gazed over the seated crew and kept up a mistrustful but silent glare, as befitted an adjutant/bodyguard for an enginseer.

1103 Day 2:

"Whit dae yi'll waant coggirl?" One of the crewmen slurs as he glances up at the Tech Priest, "Kin ye nae see that we're trying tae huv a quiet dram oan this misbegotten hellhole?"

One of his mates lets out a grunt and looks pointedly at Trask, "Mibbie we better indulge her a bawherr, Gohan." The other two merely watch the exchange as he continues, "Whit kin we dae fur ye miss?"
