Have you seen the show yet?

Anyway, I was reminded the other day about my old boots-and-MC days, and I thought I'd post some associated tunes:

Black Flag, "TV Party"
Murphy's Law, "Quest for Herb"
Dag Nasty, "Can I Say"
The Cro Mags, "We Gotta Know"
Gorilla Biscuits, "New Direction"
Circle Jerks, "When the Shit Hits the Fan"
Ag Front, "Gotta Go"
Minor Threat, epnoymous
Bad Brains, "I Against I"
Op Ivy, "Take Warning" and "Knowledge"

Personaly, I've always loved movie and TV soundtracks. Particularly if they have an epic sort of feel to them.

Recently I've been playing through Gears of War 2 again, and I've only just realised how damn good the music is.

That is awesome, and I'm the same way about TV and film scores. They're more important than people seem to give them credit for.

Indeed. A well made and thought out soundtrack can add whole new layers of depth to a movie or show.
Hell, Bear McCreary's score is half the reason I'm still watching Caprica - when a guy writes and performs a completely original rap in Greek just to add something to the background for a few seconds, you know you're dealing with a good composer.

Yeah, I have to agree that people don't give the credit to the soundtracks of the movies nearly as much as they should. Like one thing I LOVED about Avatar was the soundtrack for it, as much as the movie was nothing but pocahantas with lots of fx the music definetly added to it a lot. Another sound track that I got because of how awesome it was was How to Train Your Dragon. I especially like the different sound that it had, being that it was a Viking setting they used bagpipes and other unique instruments.

Aye. And through him we have gems like The Epic Violins and the Song so epic it had to be Two Youtube videos. I also enjoyed the soundtrack for Harry Potter VI, like this selection

Some awesome covers:

You've got to have cojones to cover a Paul Rodgers song, but Five Finger Death Punch did as well as could be.

Minimalist alt-punk Jawbox with their cover of Tori Amos' Cornflake Girl

And because she's phenomenal, and hot, the original

And now for something completely different...
The two names I am about to put together are not a typo, mistake, or joke.

From Slash's new album, Slash featuring Fergie.

Man, I haven't heard that in years. Great stuff, though. Reminds of this:

Tom Waits' Jockey Full of Bourbon

I was watching Hellboy and that song was on the soundtrack. Went out and downloaded it immediately. Couldn't believe I didn't have it.

Which one? The Tom Waits song? I didn't know it was in Hellboy, but it was definitely on the soundtrack from Things To Do in Denver When You're Dead.
