After being on backorder since it came out (yeah, ridiculous, right?), the LEGO grand piano build arrived today!!!

It might be trite for a professional musician to put a LEGO grand piano on top of a Steinway grand piano...but I just don't care!
8-) :) :girl:

Thanks! Can't wait to get started!

update: building components come in numbered bags, to match the picture directions for building. I finished bag 1 and 1.5 today. Taking my time, as it is a complicated build. Only had to redo one thing, which I caught before I moved onto a different step. I believe there are 20+ main bags, with several .5s along the way. Half the battle is sorting before starting each section. Lots and lots on black on black building, aka blinding even with good light... :bangwall:

I'm on overnights permanently, looks like. 9 PM to 6 AM.

This is a good thing, mind.

Ran into a snag...my motor only runs counter clockwise...they are sending a new one...can't keep going until I put it in.

update Oct 5th: The lovely folks at LEGO informed me that the motor I need is on backorder...and were kind enough to offer me $25 towards another item to build in the meantime. I combined that with some VIP points I had and got the Minions Lair set, just for fun and because they always make me laugh. It was rushed and I started this morning..while I had the Minions film on in the background..hilarity ensued!

Further update: whaddaya know...the motor arrived in the mail today! Crazy!!

Was this a freebie? Did you get charged twice?

I think someone made a mistake and sent it twice...no charge on the included invoice...just a bunch of zeros.

We once had Dell ship up a second drive array worth £2000, they said we could keep it. They didn't want the effort of arranging return shipping. :)

Finished the Minions...fun build, even used the spare parts to create my own fourth creature!

The grand piano is looking like the musical instrument now. Body built, half the keyboard done. Halfway point in the giant instruction booklet.
