Trek Space Combat Ranges
Re: Trek Space Combat Ranges
Why not call them what they are, Pedestrian crossings? And where I am, we use symbols. Doesn't help, as they are often ignored.

Same, symbols here. Where I've seen writing its usually done in red for don't and green for do. Most traffic signals are a combination of symbolism and type with both meaning the same thing. In fact most are just symbolic.

"Pedestrian crossing" could cover any one of half a dozen different designs - the pelican is a specific type of crossing.stitch626 wrote:

Fair enough. Most of the ones I've seen from the US have been the written version.Tyyr wrote:Same, symbols here. Where I've seen writing its usually done in red for don't and green for do. I guess thats fair.Captain Seafort wrote:"Pedestrian crossing" could cover any one of half a dozen different designs - the pelican is a specific type of crossing.
Those are usually the older ones. I think we have maybe two in the city we live in. The rest are symbols.Captain Seafort wrote:Most of the ones I've seen from the US have been the written version.
And neither one is followed by practically anyone.

See, you guys are all screwy. A "pelican" is a member of a genus of fairly large, fish-eating shorebirds.
And we didn't change things around to be lazy. We changed things around for both common sense, and for the express purpose - as in driving on the right - of distancing ourselves from you guys.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Great. In the space of three pages we've gone from arguing combat ranges in Star Trek, to discussing dialects, to talking about different road signs.

well it's either green or white and red so it's not like the colors are even close in shade either.Reliant121 wrote:Helpful for the colourblind, isnt it?

I agree.Reliant121 wrote:They actually work rather well, traffic often flows faster on roundabouts than traffic lights. Unless its a really really major junction, where traffic lights are a lot easier.
Why in United Kingdom they call the pedestrian crossings with animal names?
