Yeah, grenades would be of great help.
Better add that to the increasingly long list of things the Redshirt Brigade needs.

It's something I'm giving them the story I'm writing. Along with the stun grenades that Archer hated so much.

Flashbangs are nice. One per Marine should be good. I wouldn't spend to much weight on them. More often then not I'll be wanting a 203 round over a flash. Stick to the basics in combat, thats what keeps you alive. Everything else is gravy.

I'd rather use a stun grenade aboard ship than a frag.

Flash-bangs would be useful in hostage rescue situations, but in a battle the proper ones would be much more effective.

On board a starship you don't need stun weapons. Just cut the presure to a section of the ship then walk in 10 seconds later.

I don't think you'd have to worry to much about fragments penetrating the hull, it's rather thick from what I recall on the show and one could always design a lower velocity one or simply use a blast based design.

I'm not really worried about blowing a hole in the hull, it's just that I'd rather avoid wrecking the things inside it if I don't have to. In an enclosed space like a space like a compartment a stun grenade would be pretty effective.

Tear gas, or CB. It's always fun to watch people vomit their guts up all over the place.
Hey...don't ST ships have some kind of nerve gas dispenser hooked up to the vents? Was in
Space Seed IIRC.

Apparently every possible gas is connected to the ventilation systems, from horrific gases and deadly toxins to flesh eating super bugs.
I think a sadist was on the enviornmental design team.

Yeah but that only works once per season...
I'd still just vent the pressure from a section, let everyone pass out then walk in afterwards. No damage and no shots fired.

I vote for turning off the grav plating and going to full impulse, turning them into a smear. Good thing the ship cleans itself, eh?

Well I think its safe to say that plot holes aside, boarding an enemy space craft is a great way to die very quickly. No boarders should ever think about attempting it in anything less than full enviornmental suits.

Yeah, but then we don't have anyone to
talk to afterwards.

Not a problem, the ship reads your mind at all times, remember?
