Moreover, 'friendship' is not a good name for a battleship. In fact it's pretty crap.

Re: Gamma Mission Prep
What are you two going on about? MM&I suggested Achilles (Achilleus) who was the mightiest Mycenaean hero and the protagonist of the Iliad, so I just suggested the names of two more heroes from the same poem: Ajax (Aias) and Diomedes.Captain Seafort wrote:Exeter, although she was a (rather weak) heavy cruiser, not a battlecruiser. And that's exactly what I though when I saw Ajax and Achilles.me,myself and I wrote:Ajax! that's the one name I couldn't think of! I kept thinking, "I'm missing a British battlecruiser name here...It's relatively famous...but which one?!?" River Plate right?Mikey wrote:MM&I - I like Achilles. What about Ajax or Diomedes to go with it?
I knew you were going to say that.Rochey wrote:Right, if we name it the Auila, then I reserve the right to fly this flag from the bridge:

Ah, after Greek heroes. Of course. Wouldn't want to name them anything like Cu Chulainn, or Arthur, or Tam O'Shanter, or any folk heroes native to the British Isles, would we?Reliant121 wrote:I think they were names of British cruisers.

Re: Gamma Mission Prep
I was going for the 3 british cruisers from the Battle of the River Plate (Exeter, Ajax and Achilles (Achilles right Seafort?) vs. the German Graf Spree).Mikey wrote: What are you two going on about? 2 More suggestions btw:
Graf Spee
Pinz Eugen
Also, is anyone going to post us back to Starbase in the Beta thread or can I just do that?

Gotcha. I think it was "Spey," though. And I hate to keep repeating myself, but I'd still have to guess that the most famous British warship of the modern era was HMS Warspite.me,myself and I wrote:I was going for the 3 british cruisers from the Battle of the River Plate (Exeter, Ajax and Achilles (Achilles right Seafort?) vs. the German Graf Spree).Mikey wrote: What are you two going on about? It was spelt Graf Spee, although pronounced Spey
