The major difference between our forum and theirs that I can see is that there appears to be little to no serious debates, either going on now or that had already been going on.

Look at our threads. You can pick any thread completely at random, and I can assure you that on even the most agreeable subject (ie, Janeway's a dumbass) there will be a debate of some sort going on.
Hell, just take a look back into the forum's past and take a look at the more controversial topics. Things like 8472's goals, civillians on starships, the design of the GCS, the nature of whales, etc have all exploded to dozens of pages in length.

Look at their threads, and you'll find that even in controversial topics there is little discussion taking place.

Heh, maybe I'll join up over there and teach 'em how you really debate.

Oh, come on, what did they ever do to deserve that?

On second thought, screw joining them. I've spent the last hour or so browsing through the forum, and nothing is happening! There are loads of threads, but no discussion. Seriously, the longest thread I found that wasn't a review thread/picture thread was about three pages long.

Out of curiosity, do we have any SCN members over here? I don't think we do.

For pure comedy, you'd be better off sending Blackstar to SDN.

Shran is a member there and their admin Bernd comes here very occasionally.

Now that would be entertaining. You think we were harsh on him?

Rochey, I must say that Site administrator bond, James Bond does seem to be an equal opponent for you on scn. He handles the same tactics, but his posts are far more reigorous in a sense that only well-seasoned members which have at lest experienced 2 server changes would dare to stand up against him. he is very apt at google-fu.

i must also add, their A&D section is very active.

Maybe once or twice. As well as Bernd and me, there is also a former SCN member, called drake zure. Something along the lines of blackstar, but wih an even shorter temper and an absession around his very own design, called the tremor class. He wasted one year of his life trying to get his design submitted at the JoAT.

Trust me this latest design was not even the ugliest of all. At some time he either got banned for it, or he quit by himself.

Ugh, that is ugly... hmm, a shudder smiley would be perfect here.

Honestly, you are about the second or third person who said that. And Drake got himself in so deep he attacked the very first person which liked the design, and pissed off two of the calmest members of that board, including Bernd. Along with that, most criticising posts were interpreted as personal attacks by Drake Zure.
