Um, you know this is a fansite for a TV show right? No offense to the Kennedy's but if I'm going to put effort into cheating at something, it'll be the lottery or Vegas. You know, make money.

Ah, good to know that downloading isn't allowed. Personally, I would never try such things. Has anyone tried?

And when you fix Teaos' cheat, can you tell us?

Yes, please do share with us, once it's closed, that is.

Are you supposed to be able to just download the page via the "save page as" in Firefox?

Yes, but downloading software tries to get things just right and runs the javascript on that page. That will cause it a problem which I will not explain here. I also have a log of when this is happening.

Just thought of something.

It's possible to set pages so you can view them offline, right? Well, if you were to set every page on the site like that on your laptop, then you could disconect your laptop from the internet, go onto the sudden death game with a PC, and cross-check your answers with the ones on your laptop. Because it's offline, the site shouldn't register you having it open twice.
Or am I just rambling on non-sensicaly?

It would work but that would be a lot of work and a lot of pages open.

Aye, just throwing out ideas.

Again, I'd really have to question the stability of anyone who went to that much trouble just to score well on the Sudden Death comp.

Yeah, seems like a tad too much effort.

Hey, I never claimed that people were stable.

As I said auto-downloaders will have a problem if they obey the javascript (and with other things soon). Plus there are about 1,800+ pages on the site. You also loose things like the search facility by going offline.

Teaos pointed out that you could open the image folders and get a directory listing such as this http://www.ditl.org/thumbs/, as you can see that avenue is now closed off. Anyone got any other ideas.

How about a time limit on how long you have to answer a question? I think ten seconds is likely long enough to think about it, and if you don't know it by then, you ain't gonna get it without cheating.

I wouldn't like that one, as i tend to do other things next to the sudden death, for example, browsing the forum. A time limit as acceptable, but something like 5 min.
