As I'm geographically somewhere between RK and Mikey the situation is the same. New York gets four seasons with cold winters including some bone-chilling days scattered around and moderate snow, and hot and humid summers. Most summer days sit in the 80's but there are always a couple of heat waves bringing higher temps.
As an aside, summer evenings can bring some of my favorite conditions - warm but not as hot as midday with the sun falling.

Where are you now. I thought you were in Germany. Clearly not with those temperatures. Are you back in NZ?

We've had heat advisories all week here. Fortunately my office is air-conditioned, unfortunately to reduce the power load they sometimes turn it off for an hour or two, and since we don't have windows that open it can get pretty stuffy.
My boss has been bugging me to get my inspections done, there is no way I'm going out in this heat.

No, definitely not. If I may ask, what do these inspections entail?

I've always wondered if opening windows during a heatwave is a good idea. Aren't we just letting the hot air in?

It depends, if there's a wind then opening them will at least move stuff around.

Thanks. Must be a bit odd considering how much you've moved around in the past.

A wife, a house... it’s almost like you’re growing up.

We've been averaging mid 80s in old money for the past two weeks straight. At work it's great, our office has a particularly overactive air conditioning system. Elsewhere not so much. I live in an apartment built out of a 110 year old victorian town house with veeeeery little ventilation. Lots of very large open windows but no through breeze. It's hell.

However, only one weather stoppage at Wimbledon, so there’s that.
