Went to NYC last night to see my favorite band, Bleachers. Close enough for actual eye contact with Jack antonoff. GREAT time.

Oh, FFS. Last night went from, "The VP of sales is in town, he's taking the office out for a quick drink" to "Shots, bitches!" in nothing flat.

Haha awesome. I have a close friend/mentor/travelling project manager like that. A glass of Johnny Black turns to a bottle Balvennie 17 quick.

How were the shots?

Some girly cinnamon-y whiskey. At least I had rye and Stella to wash it down.

I think so. Now last night, the Pres., CFO, and COO were in town and we did shit right... Laphroig, oysters and shrimp, $40 NY strips, some California zinfnandel I didn't know, but very good paired with the steak, and then out for a pint of the local sauer.

Oh, I get it! You mispronounced the word sauer in order to intentionally conflate it with the word "sewer," thereby intimating that I drank the contents of a sewer! The sophistication and cleverness of your humor truly knows no limits. I just beg you to stop, I don't think my ribs could stand another such salvo of hilarity.

*EDIT* But yeah, I do have a tendency toward willingness to drink anything with a label on it. I wasn't expecting the beer, though - my boss asked what I wanted from the bar of the tap room at which we had ended up, and I asked for a 70/-. She came back with something which wasn't and said, "I lived in Belgium, damnit, I know what kind of beer you want better than you do." She was absolutely correct.

Somehow got roped into working 6 days in a row, including my Friday and Saturday off... that was SO much more fun when I wasn't salary and my shifts weren't 12 hours a clip, plus 30-45 commute each way. :bangwall:

I wouldn't have any idea:

a) what a "sauer" is
b) how to pronounce it in the first place.

either way, there's not pleasing some people.

Most people on this forum wouldn't know what a Scotch egg is, but you wouldn't use a different term for one if you were describing a scenario involving one.

Oh how I'd kill for a Scotch egg right now!
