How the hell do you put 225,000 on a 2012? That is well over 150 miles per day.

It belonged to a medical courier service. There was still a chemo skincare kit in the trunk.

I was going to say my Dad puts in about 80 miles a day and he drives alot. I put in 40 which is enough for 12k a year.

Gracias. Being American, I'm used to something a bit bigger, but I sure won't mind the better gas economy.

Ah yes. We Americans love our giant gas guzzling cars and trucks.

It's not a proper vehicle if it doesn't take up at least two lanes of traffic! :P

NASA sees your two lanes and raises you... a lot

They used to sell the Sonic here as the Chevrolet Aveo before Chevvy pulled out the market and left it to Vauxhall (the Corsa I believe is closely related to the Sonic). They seem pretty solid little cars (he says little, my own Peugeot being slightly smaller  ). Nice purchase!

On that note, My Yamaha's electrics gave up the ghost recently and rather than try and rewire the damn thing myself ( ) I have trade it to a mechanic and bought a new Honda.

Mikey wrote:Well, I bought a car. I didn't really want to, but the old beast had a cracked cylinder head and would cost more to repair than the car was worth. So an old mechanic friend - one of those extremely rare animals known in certain circles as an "honest mechanic" - happened to have acquired a 2012 Chevy Sonic five-door with 225,000 miles on it... but only 7,000 miles on the engine and transmission, and with new brakes and tires. It's tiny, but it's great on gas and has some of the toys I like - remote start, satellite radio, bluetooth music/phone connectivity, OnStar telematics.
Looks like a nice car. Buy, I'd hardly call it tiny. It has four doors for example. This is tiny:

Looks like you could pick that thing up and put it in your living room.

Also looks like it might flip if you hit a stray piece of trash.
