Thanks, although there is partial (admittedly circumstantial) evidence that "berserker" behavior was induced chemically. In any event, however, things are what they are; I don't view using a prescription for mental health much differently than I do using one to control my blood pressure, or taking insulin because I have diabetes. At least I don't anymore.

Mikey wrote:Well, since by and large my amigos here are first-class sorts, I believe this is as good a place to start as any with a New Year's catharsis. My absence of about a week and half or so is explained by my inpatient stay at a "behavioral health facility," i.e., a loony bin. After an acute incidence of some loss of control (I did not harm anyone) and a week's stay at said facility, I learned a great deal about myself and about some of my issues as well as means to get better. I was diagnosed with both major depressive disorder and impulse control disorder, and I am combatting both with a combination of behavioral therapy and psychotropic drugs.

BTW, the staff at the facility was phenomenal, but definitely not amused by me asking which nurse was Ratchett, or telling my tallest fellow patient to "Go long, Chief!"

P.S. A happy and healthy new year to one and all, and may you all have new opportunities such as the one I've received.
Happy new year to you, too, Mikey. Very glad you got help, dude.

Read it. It's a use once "tea pot" for making hot chocolate:
The working chocolate teapot is life size with a removable lid. Our expert chocolatiers have finally created a product which, contrary to some public opinion, is really useful! Simply fill the teapot with hot water, stir in cocoa powder and pour a wonderful hot chocolate drink. Add more water to create a lovely chocolate fondue inside. Dip any of your favourite fruits, strawberries or marshmallows into the creamy chocolate fondue and enjoy the chocolate covered delights. When finished, simply break up the teapot and eat it!

I was mainly talking about how the outside could melt too. Hot enough water could eat through the pot too.

Unless they made the chocolate harder

No doubt the outside is tempered differently from the inside. However, I'm forced to ask: were people having enough difficulty making hot chocolate to necessitate this?

I wnna say it might be more of a novelty item... but is that giving people too much credit?

I take it the phrase "As useful as a chocolate tea-pot" isn't in use in the US then.

Nope, but it's high time it started to be.

Necessity isn't the only reason people invent new things. Convenience is often a driver. After all there is no need for the electric kettle, since you can build a fire and hang a pan over it. They still exist though, because it's easier to just press a button / leaver and have it happen for you.

Anyhow, this is a play on the common British saying "as useless as a chocolate teapot". They've actually make a useful one, which is a novelty item. It's also a lot more useful than these:

Chocolate iPhone
Chocolate Swiss Army Knife
Chocolate Sprouts
Chocolate Lego
Chocolate Game Controller
