Then simply lock this thread after the poll and the secret is ours, to be laughed about when one of us wins the lottery and brings us all togehter for a big party - or the cheque for being the best site comes through first :)

Your act of contrition could be to suggest a poll asking which sites supporters are most likely to end up president :DITL:

Well I don't feel so bad about messing with their poll now that I see that they ripped off my ideafor a group design starship.

They're doing it weird. Doesnt seem to be working to well.

But that does remind me that I need to finally put everything together and do the final write up for the Paladin.

i don't think it will be neccesary.
i can however tell you that they start by thinking up as many technologies that are directly related to canon technologies or analogous to RL devlopments. They don't project that on the ship yet.

Theis time is set at around 2384/5, as in a continuation of the nemesis timeframe.

there mission objectives are as following; * Undertake internal Federation patrols
* Handle long-range exploratory mission outside Federation borders lasting from 2 to 5 years
* Undertake extended border patrol missions, supplementing sector-based destroyer- & frigate-class vessels
* Multimission capabilities comparable to existing Excelsior-class vessels in fleet inventory
* Supplement Intrepid-class vessels in "troubleshooting" roles
* Provide support for Oberth- & Nova-class vessels in science roles

this means that it is by no means a threat to our paladin or Daystrom.

And ' their' system of designing is centralized around one single person, which tries to keep the rest in line when trying to contribute to this. He succeeds in this, but partially kills off imagination from time to time due to very characteristic posts which seem to NAIL IT DOWN HARD, while it is supposed to be a starting point for other discussions related to said aspects.

Another major point of interest is that they seem to be better at keeping things on topic.

There seem to be fewer participants in their project than ours, and a lot of it is deverted from the forum. We only see what they want us to see, not the actual process. That comes from a number of things; 1. They are a very old on line community in terms of the internet, at least 10 years.
2. this community moved between various boards and had several server changes. People were banned, other left and ' got a life' and so on. thus, a hard core group, larger than ours, but still numbering well below 50, has participated on multiple boards and knows each other's history.
3. Centralised mechanisms. Everything runs through the mind of one person. in fact, it seems more like they're feeding a single overseeing mastermind with snippets of ideas, from which another host of ideas springs forth, which are in turn the building bricks of the ship.
4. their community is also bigger, with a hard core of old and long time members as well as people who wiggled them into that sphere, as well as several other layers, down to the one time posters. this gives a lot of 'blips' in the community which in turn result to somehing very diverse, but in too lage quantities. Thus, diversity gets lost.

And their project rebooted at least once, about which I can't say much more, because i sort of left that place around july. never got around to reintegrating myself in that place.

What would the Romulan's do?
Send lots of agents to destabilise the enemy with disinformation and misdirection. "The DITL is merely a big science vessel with no design input from Rochey or Deepcrush so therefore is no threat to any other vessels in existance".
Shame on us for having only one agent no matter how good shran is. We must spread out and infiltrate all in the name of the god emperors Ian and Graham.
All hail :DITL:

I thought EAS forums had only been around since september 06?

Their total number of posts and over all posting rate us quite a bit lower than ours from what I see.
