Wow, they managed to show the entire armed forces in that video.
It probably isn't so hard to fill up the Irish ranks. I think you get all the benifits, but instead of shooting people you mostly guard your fish.

I actually found the USMC video annoying. The metalish music kept teasing me, seeming like the intro to a Disturbed song. But they just never delivered the:

OOH AH AH AH AH!

Um. Maybe that wasn't so clear. Well, here.

See what I mean?

Don't think it's sad. Think of it as "I could have a career as a back up dancer if I wanted to"

I think the most dangerous thing the Irish military ever encounters is rather annoyed Spanish fishermen. Our neutrality probably makes the military a fairly safe career over here. Who's going to invade us?

England again? The US of A? {Hey, you never know these days!}

Or perhaps the EU if you continue to refuse to ratify that constitution/treaty/whatever it is? :-)

Meh. You're safe from the USA, Rochey - as long as nobody figures out how to make oil from peat.

Well that's a relief. :)

As for the Brits, I think they've gotten bored of invading us.

Meh. A 5-year-old raised in Jersey would chew him up and spit him out. And rifle through his wallet.

BTW - here's a new take on an old one, just for Rochey and Colmquinn:
Whisky in the Jar

Anybody ever hear of Fleming and Jon? I got into 'em a while back, and I really dig her voice.
How can you not love the classic Winter Wonderland set to the tune of Led Zeppelin's "Misty Mountain Hop?"

A bad recording, but a great song called I'm Not Afraid

Intestella 5555 Pure awsomeness by Daft Punk. They put together the album. And then went to Japan to hook up with a childhood hero of theirs who did anime and got them to make, essentially, a movie set to the music. No dialuge (aside from the guy speaking in japanese at the start of part 1 which is presumably introducing the thing, though maybe not), and almost no sound effects. Just a story told to the tracks of the album.

Musically, I like tracks 4,1, 5,12, and 11 in that order of preference.

And the goods:
