Maybe it is a flaw of my lack of age, but I cannot simply ignore my own moral compass (I'm about as kind natured as Jesus) no matter whether this is a game or something else.
That is more than fine as you are free to make your choices and simply deal with the fallout. Weak absolute regimes tend to struggle quite a bit. That is the issue that most face.

And I fully admit to trying to push various governments towards more draconian actions against their own and other people. I would fall over thrilled if the Romulan player decided that he needed to stuff every living Vulcan into an oven. Not because I support genocide in anyway but because it gives the game depth, removes a lot of ambiguity we tend to wallow around in and makes it seem like something real and important is driving events.

I would love it if someone stepped forward and moved to be a real, threatening bad guy to give us more direction. The Hur'q and Borg really are there to fill in that role if we have nothing. But it would be much more fun were it player driven.

Take that, Hitler!
And for the most part your people don't dick with you.

See thats part of the problem though. We are wallowing around in what for the most part are pretty silly questions and distinctions. Too many things here end up in insipid debates of trek history. Simply put we need some real differences between players. Like real, actual differences in approach to viewing the world.

So if I declared a religious crusade against the free republic, that would be enjoyable?

I really AM the covenant now...

We do have differences. I think the Federation sucks, and the Klingon-led Coalition should be the regional watchdog, rather than those rootbeer-swilling, pompous, arrogant, pushy, ideologist humans.

I'd twirl my mustache right now, but, you know. The helmet.

You can do what you have to and want to do.

I am just commenting from my perspective. I like all of the players. I just want to see things move towards something where its not so confusing and people have to make a stand for or against others. Everyone is really trying to be everyones friend. Its disgusting. I feel like things lack a lot of focus much of the time and that people are just passing time (except for you Tsuki of course).

I would just like to feel like we are going somewhere in particular. Thats just GM whining for the most part though.

Speaking of the helmet, I was watching DS9 the other day, and one of my kids pointed at the TV and said "Hey it's Princess Leia!"

I never realized how much her Bounty Hunter disguise in Jabba's palace looked like a Breen. Coincidince?

Big, I have a great idea for a bad guy. But as I'm firmly ensconced as the Cardassians with no desire to give them up, its a moot point. Unless anyone has an idea how to bring them into being.

LOL, I'd even consider adopting those characters in the other SIM if they'd let me

if it ever comes to that

I am all ears. I would imagine I could find someone to play a real bad guy if we had to. Shoot me a PM.

Oh, and could someone please attack and destroy one of the damn non-player races I created a while back? I took a lot of time setting them up so you guys could run them over and the only person who tried backed off at the first hint of dipomatic difficulties. :poke:
