Yes, it's really at it's best when it's burnt by your engine and emitted from the exhaust. When that happens you can extra propulsion from your car by attaching a cigarette lighter to the tail pipe (as you Americans would call it) and igniting the exhaust. It would then cause the car to have a greatly increased acceleration, much like an after burner on a jet plane. To help your car to achieve this nirvana you need to remove the piston head from the engine and put some notches into the piston gaskets. That will allow the required quantities of oil to leak through into the combustion chambers and fuel you boost.

So the question you've got to ask yourself is why don't the manufactures build this into cars in the first place? Well if you think about it it's pretty obvious. They don't want you to know about it because it means you will buy a smaller engined, cheaper, car. If everyone did that they would loose a packet.

(and just to prevent any law suites, yes, I am joking)

Dont forget about changing the spark plugs in the flux capacitor because you can't go above 88 without it.

On a side note when I first got my first car, a mechanic tried to tell me my ball bearings in my axles are bad. Impressive find in less than a ten minute inspection.

I do remember a mechanic talking to another about a woman that would not change her oil. She ran the car until it would run no more, then replaced the engine. More money than sense I suppose. *sigh*

I don't understand how anyone not know about changing the oil. Now I can understand not changing the oil because of laziness. I have waited sometimes a little too long myself, but I will never wait too long.

Well, some people can be rather dense about such things...

I remember my cousin was helping my brother look for a car. They found a dirt cheap and relatively new car some old lady had. She had it for five years and never changed the oil but she barely drive it. My cousin when he checked the oil found it be sparkly. My brother didn't know what to make of it. My cousin told me it took longer than normal to explain why buying that car would be bad.

I have once half changed the oil in my car. I changed as much new oil I had but not the filter. I was so broke I did that.

I know how to change the oil in my car and have done it before. But I usually go to Jiffy Lube.

Time and effort vs. money. Much cheaper to do it yourself but it requires time and effort.

Today is the first full day of a two-week vacation (mostly stay at home but we'll do a few things). Even though my own hours aren't that heavy the extended time off will let me do a few things I hadn't gotten around to doing, plus I'll get down to the beach for a few days next week. For my boss, the owner of the computer repair shop, the vacation is more sorely needed since he's at the shop all the time, adding up to many more hours than my time.
