Funny I have been looking for that series on audiobook CD for awhile now.

What's the advantage of audiobooks over reading books? Please keep in mind this is not a criticism of audiobooks or you. I just want to know what audiobooks offer? Maybe I could give them a try.McAvoy wrote:Funny I have been looking for that series on audiobook CD for awhile now.

Re: Cool Picture Thread
You can listen to them where it would be unwise to read a book. For example while driving.

Re: Cool Picture Thread
That is exactly what the purpose is. I do long drives a couple of a week. YouTube works but they are limiting, like watching ten minute videos at a time I would need to watch a dozen. And I would have to switch to a new video while driving.IanKennedy wrote:You can listen to them where it would be unwise to read a book. For example while driving.
Audiobooks are safer.

I've also known people who have eyesight issues which make it hard for them to read. Audiobooks are a boon to them.

Same for me. My cousin's wife is steadily losing her eyesight to the point watching TV doesn't do anything for her anymore.Graham Kennedy wrote:I've also known people who have eyesight issues which make it hard for them to read. Audiobooks are a boon to them.

I am genuinely sad I don't live in the timeline where the Thrawn trilogy was turned into the sequel trilogy.Nutso wrote:Thanks for the responses.

Edit: The pic is admittedly not that cool and I'm just stoking the flames of "what could have been." I don't even know who's playing Anakin Solo or Ben Skywalker.

Nutso, I am loving these and kinda hating you for posting these and making me sad for a future that will never be.Nutso wrote:

It's because redditors who love the EU were mad that this sequel is what they got instead of cinematic adaptations of their favorite novels and characters. I think they've comes to terms with the new canon now because they've been posting stuff like:
But not to say that this was better than that but rather that they have finally completed their collection or are adding on to their existing collection:

The old EU got me through a painful period of my life. I... owe it, for lack of a better term. Hell without the YJK I would not have started fanfic writing.

Re: Cool Picture Thread
That would be one hell of a crossover.

Seth talking to the young Shatner. That would be so much concentrated cool it would surely create some kind of black hole of coolness.McAvoy wrote:That would be one hell of a crossover.
