You think that's bad? Their detailed artwork is even more filled with towers and stuff.

moya from Farscape, looked nice but wasn't worth spit as far as I'm concerned - her offspring (Talin I think) was a great little ship, armed to the teeth from what I remember.

The Ramiles class star fortress was built to act as a forward base during war and then as a defense post once the war was won. Housing over 200,000 crew (est as the totals very from post to post) and space to store over one hundred 'regiments'. Again a loose term as these units range from about 1,500 men to 5,000. They also carried the supplies needed to support the operations in question for as long as a year. These supplies added to that carried by the battle fleet and troop convoy help remove any fears of being cut off from friendly lines. When not in combat the stations have been known to last as long as 20 years without resupply of any kind. I'm sure there are other cases but I haven't read them so I wont' post them. The weapons load on board is more then a match for most battle ships.
In a table top game I lost two battle cruisers and a squadron of destroyers to a single station. I wanted to capture it but failed and it cost me.
Their hull is covered in heavy armour and even much of those windows are not what they appear to be. A single station could dock 8 dominion super battleships or dreadnoughts (Whatever you wish to call those muck ups).
By scale I think they are along the lines of 20 to 80 km wide and I don't have a clue as to any of the other dimensions. I have never heard a very telling account ever made by the B.L. or G.W.
The looks may be off but do not be fooled. These stations have a terror forming record off war.
As to the engines. The stations do have engines per say but just but they are more along the lines of thrusters to maintain position. They are towed and require a small fleet several years to place each one in its wanted location.
There are a lot of loose ends with it but 1200 have been lost in travel alone. Thankfully the Imperium sees this as no major concern as this accounts for so small a fraction of the total built as to not effect the day to day operations of the God-Emperors will.

Oh, the things are definitely increadibly effective. And given that it was designed as a place of worship as well as a battlestation, it could look a lot worse.
Though the design is still stupid.

look up the Ogryns and the Techpriest Enginseer. This is the oppitomy of weird humanity. The Ogryns are like ogres and the Techpriest is kinda fused with his machinations.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:I will... take your word for that.Reliant121 wrote:With the quasimodo thing....considering some of the things the Imperium and the space marines have produced over the years...be careful what your wish for

Personaly, I would consider Servitors to be worse than Techpriests. Servitors are basicaly corpses wired into machinary to work as robots.
And then there's servo-skulls. Flying heads.
