Actually they'd need to make it bigger, not smaller.

In fact if you think about it, for 1 pixel to represent one person they'd need to make it SO big that, for instance, you could fit about 7 million pixels in the area that New York covered on the map. The map would have to be absolutely colossal. Millions of pixels on a side, at least, I'd guess.

I actually meant that. I meant quarter scale.

But you are right. Something like that would still be incredibly huge.
