The first few times he does it the movies may make money purely on the novelty value - I'd go see a new Humphrey Bogart movie simply to see how well they did the Bogart.

But no critic in his right mind is EVER going to say "Yeah, the CGI actor's performance is as good as Bogart was". And of course, it won't be better anyway. Every single one of these that comes out will get panned, and as soon as the novelty wears off people will stop going.

Here's my question in response to LH: then why bother using a dead actor at all? To use my prior eample... if someone doesn't care about using a CG John Wayne in a movie, then that person wouldn't care about using Jeff Bridges instead.

That's what I was saying.

Oh, I thought you were using it is an argument in support of using dead actors. To me, it makes it a fool's errand.

Nah, I think it's a stupid and disrespectful thing to do.

They did?
I thought they sounded alike... :P

And on the subject at hand, I wouldn't mind seeing a movie where you have Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Tony Jaa fight an "evil" Bruce Lee, with his sidekick Brandon... Just for kicks... Or punches... :P

I think a lot of people would love it, most actors want to be remembered for ever, immortal if you will, what better way to achive it than never give up acting?

Brandon and Bruce would kick their asses.

I dunno. There's just something... intangibly wrong, here. I can't put it into words. *Shrug*
