OK kids - mission brief is up and includes the ship rosters for easy reference. After consulting with Mark, we'll give it about a week or so for folks to finish posting bios and put up some introductory posts.

I dug out the Ravage's info. Her NCC number as well as stats. Losing the weapons pod made a serious impact on her combat capability, so she'll need the Paladin and Daystrom for security

She'd be a good CnC or AWACS cruiser.

The way I see it, its Ravage's job to find out WTF is going on, and Paladin's and Daystrom's to keep her safe while doing it.

For reference, in the past three years
We returned from the Gamma Quadrant. We are purposely leaving the fate of certain people vague. The Valk was lost. All NPCs on that ship were lost. The Trojan Horse was lost. Only a handful of survivors made it. All PCs are assumed to have survived.
We returned to have found Romulas destroyed. The Romulan government re-established the seat of their government to a new homeworld. The Klingons attempted an invasion, but the Romulans asked for Federation protection.
Galactic politics are as follows
Relations with the Klingons are generally ok but a bit strained. (as a result of the Federation intervening in the Romulan invasion)
Relations with the Romulans are at an all time high. (see above)
Cardassia has rebuilt to its pre DS9 strength. While not considered a real threat, the Cardassian ego and attitude is reasserting itself again. Could be a potential problem.
The Gorn are generally friendly neighbors, but independent groups may prove hostile.
Last year (game time) there was another hostile conflict with the Tholians. It was a relatively small conflict but several battles were fought, with the loss of one Starbase, forty or so starships on the federation side, with nearly five times that number incurred by the Tholian Navy. (This is why Rochey's character was recalled) There are currently no diplomatic relations between the UFP and Tholia.
The Breen are becoming more and more hostile and aggressive, and there have been several "incidents" lately.
The Tzenkathi are in a similar position to the Breen. There have been rumors of a burgeoning alliance between the Breen and the Tzenkathi.

Ok....anyone who is on board that wants to do an intro post before we arrive, get it up before monday...(I've still got one I'm doing for McDuff).
After that, I'll narrate the post for our arrival at Starbase 1121 (aka Limbo Station) and walk us through our mission briefing.
We'll take about another week or so prepping on, or around the Starbase (I've got some new station NPCs to introduce as well as a new species Starfleet recently made first contact with), before we embark on the meat of the first part of the mission, which will be the investigation.
Now is the time to get your creative juices flowing, because we'll be fleshing out this new region of space as we search for those missing ships.

Sorry, I know I promised to move the story forward yesterday, but I've been having just too much trouble with my back today. I'll shoot for tomorrow.

These lovely shots are supposed to eventually ease the pain so that I can stop totally. Of course, if they don't work, my doctor wants to give me methadone. Which is a bad idea for someone like me, considering methadone with like a substitute heroin. I tried to tell him that, but he flat out asked what I'd prefer......methadone or pain.
The fact that I'd pick the pain still is a good sign I suppose.
