I always enjoyed it because you really had to build a wide range of units for a balanced force. You can't just build up a huge number of the heaviest unit and expect to steamroll over anything. You need support troops, and if you're at that point, air support. You can't also build a huge number of nuclear bombers either because in the game you have to destroy every unit and practically every building. That gets fustrating trying to comb the entire map for a few units.
