Saving instead of killing
Re: Saving instead of killing
Even though tax dollars are mandatory not optional?
God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.

Yes.
Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

IMO, the poll lacks a more personal option. For me, it would all depend on the person and the situation.

I was trying to capture the sort of situation you'd be inclined to pay up for with the "good and known" option. Or are you saying your response is wildely variable based on small variables?Deepcrush wrote:IMO, the poll lacks a more personal option. For me, it would all depend on the person and the situation.

What if you give money to charity? IE I give $360 annually to two different charities. What would my vote be? Would I vote if I would give extra to save someone?
Oh and I give money to the people collecting to help the homeless in NYC. Dollar here and there.
I am just trying to clarify the poll in my mind.

That would be the
"I'm willing to give so much a year, and am looking to get the most "value" in human lives for my dollar"
for that amount, you would select the greater than 10 but less than $1,000 option.
I added the second half of that statement because "I'm willing to give so much a year" alone would also include things like a donation to Yale so some preppy frat boys parents can get him a nicer car instead of having to spend as much on tuition. And that wouldn't really fit.
