I dont think he was that bad. The acting back then was APPAULING but he wasn't bad. But i have to vouch for David Tennant.

I only came in on the very end of Colin Baker. I'm old enough to have seen Tom Baker, but I didn't watch back then. But I did read the novelizations as a child before I started watching, and untainted by bad acting and bad special effects, I preferred the Jon Pertwee and UNIT stories.

I have only seen Eccleston and Tennant in the role, and its hard to say which one I like the best, though I think I prefer Chris a little more.

I haven't actually watched anything with the other doctors in, except for those dalek movies with Peter Cushing , but he wasn't the actual doctor. I was also lucky enough to catch a few of the 8th doctor audio plays on radio seven, and he was pretty good.

Looks like I'm trapped in the "first Doctor watched" theory, Pertwee for me. Although I did take mostly what I could get and watched it on PBS.

Peter Davidson was my first doctor but I still prefer Tom Baker. They made him the president of Gallifrey so means he must be good :)

I'm another exception to that rule - my first Doctor was McGann, but my favourite's Troughton.

Tom Baker was my first. Loved his Doctor and his jelly-babies. Loved Eccleston and like Tennant as well. Voted for Baker.
