Roger Moore, as Simon Templar, drove that Volvo in the original BBC series "The Saint." The show originally called for a Jaguar, as the epitome of English-ness, but Jag was on strike at the time and couldn't supply the vehicle on time. Moore offered to allow the use of his own car, and the rest his history.

my dad had a soft top once, a Triumph of some form I thinl Might not have been. I hated it. Sounded and performed nicely. I just dont like top down motoring.

Triumph? Probably let in more water with the top up than down...

Ian - what's the one in the foreground, a '70's XKE? Pretty, but there's something about the A-M.

Yes, it's an e-type Jag. The one in the background is an XKR (the supercharged version of the XK8).
