I was seriously worried about what Simon Pegg would do for scotty, but once again, both me and mi ol' man agree that he was great. They took the genius, and gave him the humour. In the films, Scotty seemed a little playful and humerous (i cant really say for TOS itself), so why not have a playful and humerous young scotty?

George Kirk did it for me. I got teary eyed in that scene. But heroic sacrifices usually do that to me so meh.

Why did you cheer and laugh when Janeway rammed that ship in 'Year of Hell' then? :)

Yes, I did enjoy the brief appearance of George Kirk. In fact, the whole Kelvin scene sold the movie to me in 5 minutes :)

Aye. If a movie can make you get teary eyed for a character who is on screen MAYBE 10minutes, and you know he's going to die and you start wishing he'll make it; it's a good film.

I loved Pine above everybody else.
He played the self-confident (bordering on arrogant), extremely intuitive Kirk like it was second nature to him.
Here is what James T. Kirk should indeed look like without all the years of experience he amassed by the time we originally saw him.
He showed us a Kirk not unlike the one in TOS, but much edgier, in his "raw" form, which I liked immensely...

Urban was really good at being McCoy, although at times, as others have said, he was more "being Deforest Kelley playing McCoy"...

Quinto was Spock... A different Spock, and edgier Spock really trying to control his human half, like the Spock seen in the "Menagerie", and he was very good at it, but I just think Pine's performance was slightly better...

The entire cast was good though, so I like them all...

In this case, Spock wasn't able to complete the Kolinahr ritual, so he has to control his emotions the old-fashioned way. I like it, personally. It gives him the chance to show emotion without having to be affected by plot-device-of-the-week... er, film.

So did I. Bruce Greenwood was absolutely solid in that role.

The prime one didn't even do that till TMP.

I loved all of the performances. I may be too easy to please, but I enjoyed all of the acting.

He had an emotional...well...reaction to V'Ger, and was unable to complete the ritual.

Oh yeah, memory glitch. Well, it has been 8 years since I last saw TMP, so I guess its ok to forget the details.
