Frankenstein fleet would be cool. Maybe use some of the novel characters for that one.

Frankenstein fleet series, set during the Dominion War, in the style of MASH!

I like the idea of series set during the TOS movie era (mainly so we could see those cool red uniforms again :D ). Or, maybe during the early years of the 24th century.

I also wouldn't mind a Take 2 at the original premise for ENT, about the pioneering days, as long as the writers put in a little more effort and do their homework. That's about the only series that could truly benefit from a remake.

On the other hand, a Star Trek version of MASH could be fun, too!

I would set a new series about 25 years post dominion war. The premise would be that a small federation fleet, maybe 7 ships altogether, would leave from DS9 to explore beyond the cardassian union. Early on it would be established that after the dominion war, sanctions were levied against the cardassians setting limits on the number of large warships and dividing cardassian space into zones supervised by the major powers for 25 years. The Klingons would be showing reluctance to leave to provide tension during the initial episodes, which would focus on aid missions by the federation fleet on their way through cardassian space.

By having multiple ships, you could have interactions between several different captians with different backgrounds (dominion war, exploration, research, ect...) which would affect their solutions to problems. You could split ships off for side explorations in order to develop the characters in their crew and use the extra officers to be able to kill off main characters on some of the ships and promote their replacements from other ships, which could make for interesting storylines.

I would finish the series out with the fleet returning to cardassian space with the cardassians at war with the klingons to recover their space and the federation playing the role of the unwanted peacekeeper, where the fleet is not necessarily safe travelling through cardassian space on its way back to DS9. Somehow the fleet would play a role in returning the area to peace.

Nice idea what would be impractical to make. Would need a huge budget to pay for big cast and probably a fair amount of CGI.

Interesting. I'm getting some post-WW2 Germany vibes, what with the CU being divided up amongst the conquering powers.

I don't think it's undoable. nBSG had a pretty damn large cast and had a shitload of CGI, yet they managed to pull it off alright.

Hey what do you guys think about a Trek mini-series? I don't know two weeks or a months worth, about the early history of the Federation. Ya know something done right, the way Roots, How the West was Won and Shogun were done.

welcome Eagle,

that multi-ship fleet is similar to what I was thinking for my series as well. :)

Actually, based on an idea in...i think the "which starship would you choose" thread, instead of the Frankenstein fleet, a MASH-based Star Trek series on an old under-powered Constellation Class starship trying to make its way in a Miranda's world. (Whomever I just stole that phrase from, I give you due credit in acknowledging that I stole it )

As opposed to a small hospital ship?

5 o'clock Charlie could suddenly be a drunken Klingon Captain

"But we're a hospital!" would be the phrase of "Captain" Henry Blake.

WAAAY before I joined the forum, I believe I saw a thread about the Olympic class. Might be worth another discussion though, as we have ALOT of new and active members.
